Twingi 26

Here you can access the digital tour, featuring the same content as in the booklet.

The historic road through the Twingi Gorge is considered a cultural monument of national significance. Since 2007, the Twingi has also been a site for art. From mid-June to mid-October, a group exhibition featuring works of contemporary art takes place along the old road between Steinmatten and the hamlet of Ze Binne. Artists from Valais, the rest of Switzerland, and abroad present sculptures, installations, and interventions in dialogue with the landscape.

In summer 2026, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the project. We look back and, for the first time, assign the TWINGI a theme: WHAT REMAINS. Instead of an open call for submissions, all former participants were invited to submit a project idea for the anniversary exhibition. At the end of January, the jury selected 11 projects from 63 submissions. The selection represents a wide diversity of positions and perspectives on the theme.

The Twingi exhibition runs until 18 October 2026.
